@iVirtualPlays @Villahed94 Ironically a modern screen requires more parts to drive it, not less. Region is handled on main, you'd need to run wires to the jumpers to do that. Sub has a lot more freedom, at the expense that pretty much every custom chip can and should be replaced.

@RGBeter32X @Villahed94 I would love to see the Sub board also get replicated and customised. The Sega CD audio can be integrated into it along with a Region Free mod and all of the original circuitry cut out for the OG screen. I realised that the Oleg Endo board has been out of stock for a while.

@iVirtualPlays @Villahed94 You gotta generate the gerbers yourself using KiCad, if enough people ask I can make some up and add to the repo. I have a set that JLC likes but different board houses might want them in different formats.

@iVirtualPlays @Villahed94 Yes, the MAIN board can. You can get all the parts from a VA1-1.8 or VA3 model 2. 315-5660, 315-5487, 315-5700 and 315-5708 are all pin compatible and can be used.

@MathijsNilwik @Villahed94 I usually just, don't use the grid with repros, I set it to the minimum for most of them, and use free routing mode when I have to. Your reference becomes your scan, and what JLC will allow you to make.

@RGBeter32X @Villahed94 Nice work! I was working on a Venus MAIN replacement myself. One of the things what somehow stopped me with this project was the strange grid SEGA was using. Retracing the board is a a nightmare. How did you solve this?

Found a fix for the JVC X'Eye Everdrive issues. Add a 10uF capacitor on MRES to get Everdrive SMS mode working!

@RGBeter32X @dawoodkandery Lots of board area seems to be used for traces. For tighter design might need to use internal routing layers. Also using modern components for ocsillator and EMI filters can save some space. What is this for (not present on the original board)

@EndoOleg @dawoodkandery Integrating the overclock would be really nice. Only issue is I've nearly exhausted board space, with the 2612 taking up even more space thanks to the Z80 bus. Maybe behind the 68k...

@dawoodkandery But, the main fun mods I've integrated are: SMS support 32X support Reset circuit moved away from sub YM2612 support with preamp to maintain sub board comparability.

@dawoodkandery Most of the REALLY fun mods need to be on the sub board. Which I am working on but that's going to take some time since the whole thing needs to be redesigned.
