Bit of rotten luck! A gust of wind meant that our cansat is now a permanent exhibit in the York Air Museum wood ! 😂 Maybe bolt an engraved plaque on the tree trunk?

Launch!

CANSAT launched successfully and we have succeeded in recovering data! Telemetry succeess. Parachute got tangled with that of another team post launch and it held both during descent. Some damage but is backup is ready and electronics have been mended by Imogen! 2nd launch soon.

Good luck to @RMSforGirls Y12 students in the final of the European Space Agency CanSat competition this week. From 200+ entries, now down to the final 10. All the subsystems of a real satellite - power, sensors, Comms - must be launched and then collect data during flight.

This is untrue. Nonsense & harmful. @RMSforGirls all the Sciences & Maths are hugely popular A Levels. We currently have UK Cansat national finalists; we are recent @NCSC CyberFirst national champions; last year 6 pupils studied STEM subjects at Oxbridge. @RMSPhysics rocks!
