@ExistentialEnso I mean it's a farce on it's face that a supposed "natural language system" can't even use the vocabulary of art and creativity to refine it's generation, it doesn't care what vocabulary you use but keep telling me this is the future of creativity

As a voice actor and vtuber/streamer I get asked how I feel about Neuro-Sama due to her being an AI. So I will finally say this: The reason why AI is so detrimental to the arts community is its lack of soul. There is a clear intention behind the wave of AI, and that’s manufacturing efficiency and capitalism, the antithesis of what art was made for. It’s hollow and doesn’t seek to create in an effort to speak humanity in their current era, it seeks to profit. Neuro-sama is not this! Neuro-sama was a passion project by Vedal, one man (turtle) to create something the genre hasn’t seen before. She wasn’t made to replace streamers, or make a quick buck. There is SO much behind the scene work that goes into her, with all ethical practices to allow more creatives like artists and fellow vtubers to contribute and flourish. She’s an amazing display of why humans are a vital part to creation, all while being an AI herself. I think seeing the word AI in any context has scared people, but AI has been in our pockets since 2010 by the name of “ Siri”. It’s all about the why and how AI is used that’s important. I think Neuro is incredible and I can safely say I’m a big fan of what she and vedal have achieved!

It doesn't change the reality of what they are trained on though. In the end, you seem to just be allowing for one because you enjoy it, while calling the same thing theft in other cases

Vtubers should not use AI, period. Artists are backbone of all Vtubers, with their art you wouldn’t be here. Be grateful, respect your artists.

Because I'm with you, last I knew her voice was from Azure, which would be trained on voices without consent which is theft in the anti-AI types world

@MyuVT I think she rocks. I also support AI in medical and technology fields. I have an issue with generative AI. Bc it steals and copies others. Ai doesn't belong in creative fields it should bc used to better humanity not attempt to replace it

@Teru_Sodo @viridi_voce @Aksium @BigPapaLemonTTV They are both the same. Deep learning models trained to learn patterns. Those patterns are then used to create novel works, whether it's text or images. If you consider one an amalgamation (which is wrong), then so is the other.

“I use generative AI because I’m too broke to afford art” But there’s literally thousands of artists EVERYWHERE that can do amazing art for under $20… even less if they are just starting out doing commissions. Just because you’re too lazy to save up the money to pay a real artist doesn’t mean you can justify using AI for art. Simple as that. 🤷‍♀️

@BigPapaLemonTTV This is such a silly new viewpoint. Vtubing is about freedom, not artists. Using technology to express yourself to the world in any way you want, instead of just being yourself. Traditional artists played a role in that but doesn't mean they get to hijack the entire medium.
