If you were emperor of college football, and could wave a wand and make it so, how would you structure the playoff process? All the anger over the way the committee arrived at the field of 12 is bad for the sport. CFB is supposed to be joyful and passionate, with highs and lows from what happens on the football field, not a hotel conference room. For now, a simple thing would be to go to 16 teams sooner rather than later. It's easier to argue why #17 and #18 shouldn't be in than to argue why #11 Notre Dame and #12 BYU should be left out.
