Aaron Tucker had been out of prison for seven days. He had less than $2 in his pocket and one shot at turning his life around, a job interview that morning. Then he saw a car flip over and catch fire from his bus window. He asked the bus driver if he was going to help. "No, but if you get out I'm going to leave," the driver replied. Tucker got out anyway. He sprinted toward the upside-down, smoke-filled car and found the 61-year-old driver covered in blood. He unbuckled the man's seatbelt and dragged him clear as the car started to catch fire. He pulled off his own dress shirt and used it to stop the man's head wound from bleeding, telling him: "You're going to be all right. Your family wants to see you. Keep your eyes open." The bus left. Tucker missed his interview. When the story got out, strangers set up a GoFundMe that raised over $50,000 in three days. He also received multiple job offers in construction. "I feel like a job can come and go, but a life is a one-time thing," Tucker said. "The job just wasn't in my mind at that time."

Today, my wife & I joined Donald Trump’s hit list. He has directed his Department of Justice to investigate us. They have not found a crime - they are simply trying to find one. He isn't coming after me because of mean tweets, but because I am considering running for President. He hates that I consistently call him out. He is simply the most corrupt President in American history. We have nothing to hide.  Mr. President, come after me. I am not going anywhere.  The country is watching.

Inside the White House, Miller pushed to suspend habeas corpus so agents could seize people, detain them, and deport them with no judge, no hearing, no chance to say “you’ve got the wrong guy.” Even Trump’s own lawyers put in writing that this is illegal. Miller pushed anyway. Miller screams “invasion” because the Constitution only allows this sort of thing during an invasion. But this same crowd brags every day that border crossings hit record lows. So which is it? The right to challenge your own detention is the line between a republic and a regime. Lose it, and the government can disappear anyone. I will fight this with everything I have. This attack on Gov. Newsom represents a dangerous escalation by Trump. The President frequently calls for the jailing of his perceived enemies, but his playbook of weaponizing the Department of Justice as a personal attack dog is another level of corruption. This must stop.
