REAL TALK FAM. As a Persian Gulf Naval Combat veteran who has survived the following: 1) An Antiship missile duel (we sank the Iranian Navy missile boat but it missed us by 150ft) 2) Sailing into a minefield to help save a Frigate that was sinking 3) Chased high speed IRGC boats 4) Attacked by Iranian F-4 fighter jet (we shot it down) It was … 5) Hitting the WW2 style moored SEA MINE planted in secret that sucked the most & did the most damage. Our helicopter carrier was put out of commission. I can say 100% confidence that if Iran has gone back to 1985-1988 tactics the PG will be very hot very fast. The SOH won’t reopen anytime soon if that’s what what.

Ie, the F-35’s long-discussed -non- -immunity to infrared tracking (it may be invisible on radar but its heat bloom is plenty visible) may have finally been exploited. If so, it’s a bigger problem, because it means that instead of the enemy getting a lucky shot based on a rare radar signature, they’ve found a consistently employable targeting method using fairly old tech. At that point, the F-35 becomes an expensive bomb truck with Chinese components.
Justin Bronk@Justin_Br0nk

If genuine: A pop up attack with an IR sensor tracking the F-35 from the ground. Likely seen flying by day Iran has small IR SAMs derived from Soviet AAMs like R-27T/ET. Might also be Saqr-1/2 (358/359) loitering SAM Q: why didn’t F-35 EO/IR/MAWS warn the pilot, deploy flares?

Four officials tell Newsmax the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and the embarked 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (11th MEU) is deploying ahead of schedule from the West Coast and is expected to sail direct through the Indo-Pacific to the Middle East, after the U.S. Navy was ordered by the Pentagon to surge additional fire power to the U.S. Central Command Area-of-Responsibility near Iran.

The Boxer Amphibious Ready Group (ARG), comprised of the USS Boxer (LHD-4), USS Comstock (LSD-45), and the USS Portland (LPD-27) with the embarked 11th Marine Expeditionary Group (MEU), is on its way to the Middle East after departing the U.S. west coast for deployment.

It’s official. They’re fucking winging this. Yes this MEU was scheduled for an April deployment to INDOPACOM but it will take: - 22 days to get to the PG at max speed sustained (which means no port visits or stops) - 30 days to get there at average cruising speed. So clean up or backup for an unplanned amphibious campaign? No one knows. They’re winging it. At this point prepare for mobilization of the 82nd airborne, 75th Rangers, 10th Mountain and all the SOF in the world. Trump needs and offramp or this war will go on for the next year after he declares victory.

This back and forth is not getting enough attention, and deserves a closer look. It is actually precisely the job of the IC to initially determine imminence re a threat. How do we know this? Lots of open source publications on this issue. For ex, in order to take kinetic action against our terrorist adversaries, this is exactly the determination the IC had to make. And the IC made it. All the time. Based on all source intelligence coupled with an analytic call. It then goes to interagency for review, including the NSC. Now, can the President disagree with such a call? Sure. So it’s a blended process, and Trump admin reportedly has looser view of imminence than Biden/Obama. But overall, the IC very much makes such an initial determination. Wish this could hav been reviewed in such detail during the hearing.
Alayna Treene@alaynatreene

US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard says its not her job to determine what is an "imminent threat." “Senator, the only person who can determine what is and is not an imminent threat is the President,” Tulsi Gabbard said in response to questions from Sen. Jon Ossoff at the Senate’s Worldwide Threats hearing

Big news: The Canadian Modular Assault Rifle (CMAR) is coming! We’re replacing the C7/C8 rifle family with a modern, Canadian-made system that delivers 40 years of technology evolution. This is about precision, adaptability, and readiness for the future fight. 1/3

Quick update on the Tripoli ARG transit OSINT Confirmed (Mar 18): Sentinel-2 imagery from 03:45 UTC shows the formation is still just two ships. The USS Tripoli (LHA-7) and the USS New Orleans (LPD-18) were spotted making way ~55 km off Port Klang. We are still waiting to see if they link up with additional escorts or the rest of the ARG before pushing further into theater.

OH JESUS NOT THIS GUY... AGAIN. He claims in interviews he served in the AFU but he joined my Legion battalion for ONE FRICKIN DAY to do a body recovery bc he told my Ukrainian CO he was an EOD specialist. He was not. I knew about his captivity in Libya, where he was let go; he didn't escape. He was trying to get guys to leave Ukraine for "ops" in Venezuela. Two got rolled up by Maduro/Russia IIRC. He is a mess seven ways to Sunday. This was inevitable. And NO he does not work for GUR.

They did exactly what they should have. Many uninformed takes claimed the U.S. would just roll over NATO, when in fact they have a larger land army than the U.S. and specialize in Arctic warfare. It is appalling and shameful we put them through this.

1/ Denmark was reportedly preparing for full-scale war with the US over Greenland in January, with military support from France, Germany, and Nordic nations. Elite troops and F-35 jets with live ammunition were sent, and runways were to be blown up to prevent an invasion. ⬇️
