Is stapling documents at a slight angle really necessary? I found a report on my desk with staples tilted three degrees off vertical. I called the admin in and demanded to know if this was some avant-garde filing statement. She said her hand slipped. I asserted that crooked staples symbolize a skewed work ethic and complicate binder alignment. She restapled it properly under supervision. I warned her slips like that slip into performance evals. I noted "binding asymmetry" in her task tracker. Now all staples require my protractor approval.
