@AidanSimardone Or, maybe they could just cut spending. No country can survive when 1 out of every 4 work for government. you can tax the rich all you want. all that will do is hasten our demise.

@sizzle_sarah Yes and it has been for a very long time. Canada was Woke before the term was even coined. Our brain dead politicians have been pursuing this stupid ideology for decades and have managed to ingrain it so deeply that few Canadians are willing to speak up.

A 24-year-old woman proudly shares her relationship with a 64-year-old man. She says he’s got everything figured out; retirement plan, backup plan, owns his house and car. He’s even added her to his life insurance and plans to leave the house in her name before eventually moving into a home. She calls it “security” and says she plans to marry him because her future is guaranteed. Relationships come in all forms, but when “security” becomes the main attraction, it raises eyebrows. Is this smart planning or emotional compromise? Maybe both. Or maybe it says more about today’s priorities than we’d like to admit. Is this real love… or just a well-calculated investment?

@BertaBSDetector You and I are definitely on different ends of the political spectrum but the truth matters. The truth is that there is not a single book that can't be bought or owned in Alberta. Smith did establish age of consent for politically sensitive topics but nothing is banned.

@AlixG_2 Over the last 40 years all levels of government in Canada have grown like a cancer. During that time nothing has gotten better. Everything has gotten worse and for some reason the average Canadian just not care about the slow destruction of what should have been a great country

I used to look forward to going back to my country, seeing my family, enjoying all Canadian summers have to offer. Canada gave me opportunities to become successful & I had a beautiful upbringing there. It is not the same country I knew & loved. It's sadly foreign to me now.

@DjmMorrison I don't want to defend Smith but she has not banned a single book. She also hasn't forced adults to do anything. You people are lunatics. Get a grip.

@RantingEngg Well Actually they are; banning books, taking away freedoms to make our decisions about our health and bodies, enforcing exclusion and fostering intolerance all in the name of religious beliefs.

@BertaBSDetector I am wide awake and rational. That is why I am not worried about book burning. Smith and the UCP aren't far enough left to do things like that.

@theserfstv every time oil goes up liberal idiots want to nationalize oil. But no one wants to nationalize oil when prices goes down and the oil companies are losing money.

@CheriDiNovo Gas prices always go up when oil goes up. They also go down when oil goes down. You are just another liberal who wants to nationalize oil company profits but privatize their losses.

@matt_kercher The problem was that there were no profits for Canadians to benefit from. PetroCan lost money. The government simply is not capable of running anything efficiently. It should make everyone wonder why we let them run hospitals.

So after the privatization, over 6000 people lost their jobs, in the oil sector no less, and you’re proud of this? Meanwhile instead of Canadians benefitting from the profits, it’s now a single guy. Awesome decision by your father…
Ben Mulroney@BenMulroney

@Zee0731 Prior to 1991, Petro Canada had a bloated staff of 11,000. That was reduced, after privatization to 5000. Government takes more than twice the amount of people to do the work of the private sector.

I was told that because I’m Canadian, I should mind my business about American politics. I responded back: when your president threatened Canada’s sovereignty, it became my business. What do you think? Do Canadians have the right to speak about American politics? 🇨🇦

@BlueCollarKell At this point I don't care what goes on in the rest of Canada. As long as Albertans do the smart thing and vote for independence on October 19 nothing else in Canada matters.

Petro-Canada became Suncor. The CEO of Suncor is compensated ≈$37 million/year or ≈$101,000/day. That's privatization...

@TheRealDKGray How the hell can you be stupid enough to believe investors pulled out of the Canadian oilfield to make a political statement? Investors pull out if they think they can't make a profit. the NEP was an incredibly stupid policy. That is why investment fled.

@alleria_eh You hit the nail on the head this is not about values and beliefs because politicians don't have either of those so it is very easy to bribe them to cross the floor.

Maybe conservatives should be questioning why conservative MPs would choose to cross the floor instead of screaming and blaming mark carney. You don't leave a party that represents your values and beliefs just because someone bribes you. You leave because it doesn't represent who you are any more and the leader is a terrible one. Poilievre has been rumored to treat all the MPs unfairly and demand they constantly prove their worth. Sounds like a miserable person to deal with. Look at the Captain if the crew members are abandoning the ship.
