Once again, even though women make up the majority of educators, male educators still commit 85% of sexual assaults.

@LedenUnor @nisafeminista And you do know that male victims of DV are included in VAWG stats to ensure that's where all the money goes?

@RashidSunook @nisafeminista Women’s groups didn’t have funding at the start and some still don’t - you can fundraise or just do it informally. Consult some SA specialists for help in starting an informal group.

@Annoyed___Bored @RashidSunook @nisafeminista dude, the idea that men cant be raped is a part of rape culture. when i say rape culture i simply mean the ideas of rape that a culture has, and how these ideas present themselves in daily interactions. male victims being ridiculed is an example of western rape culture

@Annoyed___Bored @RashidSunook @nisafeminista + yes, i agree that in many contexts, male victims have it worse. im not trying to argue otherwise. im simply trying to get you guys to understand that you dont have to undermine womens experiences with rape culture for you to talk about the male victims side of it.

@RashidSunook @Annoyed___Bored @nisafeminista overall yeah. my point in this conversation isnt to convince you that female victims have it objectively worse or something. my point is that both genders have different specific problems regarding this, but both are pretty intensely harmful.

@RashidSunook @Annoyed___Bored @nisafeminista 1. because i am female and i can only really speak on my own experiences 2. this specific conversation is me trying to explain to yall that youre underestimating the extent of how rape and rape culture impacts women

@RashidSunook @Annoyed___Bored @nisafeminista i dont think male victims should ever feel excluded or treated as if their trauma isnt valid or real. but trauma is not an excuse to abuse others. also transitioning has nothing to do with this.... yall are obsessed with making every conversation about hating trans people lmfao

@RashidSunook @nisafeminista When female experience of sexual assault, violence, rape and more were ignored, they worked together to support victims. Why not start a group for male survivors in your community ?

Domestic abuse rises whether England loses or wins at football. Tackling that shouldn’t depend on the score line but the seriousness with which we take violence against women and ending the culture of misogyny that enables it. With views like this Reform continue to show they are part of the problem not the solution.

@LedenUnor @nisafeminista Rape carries a different sentencing tariff and more social shame. It gives rise to people who can't be guilty of rape, comitting rape, like all women. It also means men don't disclose their rape. What would be the point

@RashidSunook @nisafeminista Which I know. And you’ve implied that sexual assault can’t ever be as serious as rape - which gives license to those who engage in sexual harassment and assault, like Wayne Couzens.

@Annoyed___Bored @vyxper @nisafeminista Excluding men from being victims has three effects. 1. Disrespected men lose respect for women. 2. Abused men become abusers. 3. Men identify as women for the benefits.
