@MarkGottlieb Pokies are not gambling. That needs to be made clear. Gamblers are of the position(in some cases, under there illusion) they will win. Nobody who plays pokies thinks this. It's the playing. They know the money is gone. No different than the thrill of smoking a cigarette.

@RachelMoiselle @yuanyi_z Born and raised in Armagh. Lived in Armagh 33 years and still spend half my time there. Free yourself from your free state ignorance and live some time North of the border if you want to continue spouting your nonsense.

My dude people were killed over this in a civil war which ended after the Internet became popular.

@yuanyi_z The Protestant Catholic divide hasn't been relevant for more than a century, what sort of ignoramus thinks otherwise? The complete abandoning of our culture and identity for a shallow cosmopolitanism is much more a sign of American influence than a defence of Christianity.

Somewhat counter-intuitively, Edinburgh is farther west than Bristol, and Scotland has the westernmost point in the UK (Ardnamurchan).

Aussies that want the Matildas to lose are weird. How do you not want your national team, both men and women, to win in any sport???

I agree with your original point, but it’s important to clarify that the conflict in the North was not on the basis of theological differences between Catholics and Protestants, but rather the respective national identities to which said religious groups affiliated (nationalist versus unionist). Therefore, your point here is rather misplaced, because Catholic nationalists did not view themselves as British at all. Of course you could argue that said viewpoint doesn’t negate that this was still technically a Catholic/Protestant divide within the U.K., but it’s a fundamental misunderstanding of the nature of The Troubles.

@Neycromancer If football is entertainment, like Gary says, and I agree, then Ronaldinho is the greatest footballer ever and it isn't even up for debate. If it's a 'goals win matches, and winning matches is business' then Ronaldo and Messi are the candidates.

Tony Pulis spent almost a year filming a documentary series for Sky Sports called "Chasing the Dream," investigating the academy system in English football. What he found should concern every coach and parent involved in youth football. 91% of young players in academies never play a professional game, but it's what happens to them after they're released that he thinks needs urgent attention. I've broken down his key points in the comments 👇

Thinking of the families of Johnathan Ball and Tim Parry today, 33 years after their murder by the Provisional IRA. As a proud Irish Republican woman, I condemn this heinous act of terrorism and abhor all those who seek to glorify the PIRA. The murder of these two innocent children achieved nothing and it cannot be condoned or rationalised. May Tim and Johnathan’s memories forever be a blessing.

@DarranMarshall @endamcclafferty The expenses for Emma alone were £50,000 in 2025. Yes, fifty thousand Great British Pounds, for Emma alone. What investment did Northern Ireland get from this investment trip? Or was it an all inclusive holiday paid for by me and you?

Did Stormont Ministers travel to the Washington in business class? @endamcclafferty asked the dFM about the value for money of sending four Stormont Ministers to the US during a cost of living crisis. The dFM said it was value for money and she attended 15 events in 4 days.

I was at a bar alone yesterday when the bartender said, “Hey, check this message from my sister.” He showed me his phone and it read, “Under no circumstances should you get into a conversation with the guy sitting on your right.” Men, if you’re ever in a position to do something like this, please do it.
