This is quite fascinating… a 2000+ year old tree in the Garden of Gethsemane in Jerusalem. It was there when Jesus walked through that garden.🙏

G. K. Chesterton explains that reading gives a man more lives than he was born with: “A man who has read a thousand books is armed for life; a man who has read none is easy prey. The man who has read a thousand books has lived a thousand lives. He has seen cities he has never visited, spoken to men who died centuries ago, and walked in worlds that no longer exist. Reading does not merely inform him; it enlarges him. It stretches the boundaries of his own experience until he becomes something more than himself.”

Dow Chemical just doubled their polyethylene price increase, from $0.15/lb to $0.30/lb, effective April 1st. That's roughly a 60% price hike on the most widely used plastic on Earth. LyondellBasell has gone even further, $0.35/lb in cumulative increases through May. Polyethylene is in your packaging, your water bottles, your grocery bags, your construction materials, your medical supplies. About 50% of global production capacity is now either offline or feedstock-constrained because of the Hormuz crisis. This is how a war in the Middle East shows up at your grocery store. Energy costs don't stay in the energy sector. They flow through everything you buy.

Zander Hollander was born on this date in 1923. I always tell people that I learned how to read as a child by reading Zander Hollander's "The Complete Handbook of Baseball" in the backseat of my mom's green Chevette while she was running errands. Hollander died in 2014.

The GOAT is 78 today. Where does time go? To this juncture in history, no hockey player has so-thoroughly dominated the sport. All these years later and Bobby Orr is still the greatest. #NHLBruins #Boston #Leafs
