The reaction was viscerally overheated. I paused to wait and comment on it because I could tell that any rational or reasoned thought would get drown in the tidal wave of condemnation. I’ll say, it’s difficult to gauge what’s permissible in BL and what isn’t. There are stories (very popular ones) where the intense abuse is so abhorrent that I’m often left mind numb. And then there is a moment like this one, where an unintentional lack of full social (foreign) awareness causes a story to get pulled before starting. I understand that it’s very important for creators to be aware, but it’s also very important to understand why a creator may not be fully aware when trying to create a story in a foreign setting and not to make a villain out of them. The whole thing is so unfortunate. But while we all go on to the next story…she is left with a lot of regret and grief. When she releases again, I’ll definitely be reading.
