@ReaTodd Saw your recent post.
Want U to know I always appreciated your pitching & thought U were one of the unluckiest Devil Pitchers. You would have guys struck out & the umpires would not call the strikes or you threw the ground balls & we couldn't make the plays. Say Hi 2 Dad

@ChrisMartinLSU So do you think that throwing a 95 MPH pitch every 15 seconds vs every 30 seconds has no bearing on arm health? It’s strictly about conditioning?
English

The report mentions 5 day rotation, not capping innings/hard pitch counts on outings, and relievers being used more often. This tends to happen at upper levels from what I’ve seen, but can be fine tuned. It could trickle to lower levels as well.
As far as pitch clock, there’s definitely nothing conclusive there. If you think fatigue could be an issue, condition better. My opinion is baseball players leave a lot on the table with energy system development.

Thoughts:
• Premium on velocity & stuff is going nowhere unless rules are changed to disincentive it
• AA, AAA should (and in a lot of orgs already do) structure demands more similarly to MLB usage
• Off-season throwing progressions are broadly not executed as well as needed. Players aren’t prepared for expected demands of Spring Training - range of reasons why.
• Further examination of off-season programs need to focus on intensity, volume, frequency, and progression - not intensity in a silo
English

@ChrisMartinLSU I’ve seen injuries happen early in the season because starters aren’t built up to go beyond ‘4 innings and 75 pitches’ so relievers get shoved into the gauntlet very early on having to cover at least 5 innings a nights for the first couple of weeks.
English

@ChrisMartinLSU Also, curious what type of volume you would want to see in AA and AAA that would check the box of big league usage?
