We are banning social media access for under 16s. These days kids must find their feet in a world where technology intrudes into every area of their life. I just can’t let that go on anymore. So we’re giving children their childhoods back.

@The_Speshal @NealGuides With YouTube at least you can just maybe ban short form content where most of the mind rot stuff is. YouTube is just genuinely too useful to be banned, like millions of kids across the country are using it rn for their gcse exam revisions.

@NealGuides YouTube isn’t a learning platform. It has educational stuff in it but that’s not the same thing. I can learn plenty on TikTok videos but it’s still a mind rotting social media app.

I agree with all apart from YouTube It’s a learning platform, maybe they can force restricted content/accs, but the amount you can learn on YouTube is crazy Some teachers on YouTube are better than irl (speaking from experience when my A level economics teachers was clueless)
