Our first kids activity morning for 2026 is on Easter Saturday. Why not bring your children along for some free fun activities at the Rec?

Sunday 21st March was perfect for gardening. Warm, sunny & birds singing in the blossoming trees. We tackled nettles, dead heading & pruned the lime tree by the tennis court. Still plenty to do if anyone fancies joining us now and then!!

Last but not least, big thanks to Barbara Claridge, HonSec from Highfield Residents' Association for a very interesting and entertaining talk about wildlife gardening in France. We’re looking forward to another successful year!

Don't forget our AGM tomorrow starting at 7.45pm at the Scout Hut in Brickfield Road. Please join us. There will be refreshments and a short talk about wildlife gardening in France from Barbara Claridge HonSec at Highfield Residents' Association after the main AGM business

Recent visitors to the Rec may have noticed our @HIWWTConserve Collective Action for Nature award proudly displayed at the Upp Grosvenor Rd entrance. Thanks to our volunteer Pete for fixing the sign & also recently sharpening our gardening tools and fixing a donated wheelbarrow

Garth, Russell, Tony and Jo from our gardening volunteers had an amazing time @AldermoorFarm last weekend learning how to make compost, so they will be well prepared for the new compost bins we are buying with money from @WestSolentSolar grant to help gardening at the Rec

We are delighted to support our local Residents Association in Highfield who are celebrating their 50th Anniversary this year. A fantastic achievement!
