Dr. Alaa in Gaza 🇵🇸@2laa_kamal

I made a cup of coffee and sat down to revise for my 4th year finals — and suddenly, everything came flooding back. The last two and a half years. The bombs. The hunger. The displacement. The fear. The hospitals under attack. The universities destroyed. The training hospitals damaged. The healthcare system collapsing. The academic system collapsing. My professors killed. My colleagues and friends gone. I was a medical student… and a volunteer in hospitals while bombs fell around us. I kept studying while starving. I kept attending lectures while displaced. I kept going while everything around me was falling apart. There were days I couldn’t breathe from the weight of it all. Days I was broken. Depressed. Exhausted. Convinced I couldn’t carry any more. But then the Gazan spirit appeared. The one thing they can never destroy. We grieve. We break. We fall. Then we rise — like a phoenix from the ashes. Against every possible condition, I did something I never thought I could. I survived. I continued. I endured. I didn’t give up. Today, I’m still here. Stronger. More determined. Still fighting for my future. Still fighting for my people. Still choosing hope, even in the darkest time. This is not just resilience. This is Gaza. This is the spirit of Gaza. This is our resistance through life. This is how we survive.

Brasil largó la marca turística "Amazonia", para una de las regiones mas grandes del pais. Es de @futurebrandsp y me emociona. Pido disculpas a todos/as los DG si no corresponde, pero me parece bellisimo, con identidad, aplicable, reconocible.

Yesterday, my Kapampangan supplier brought me this early 19th cen “Tortuga” (pawikan) gold cross which his agent collected in Batac, Ilocos Norte. The maximalist exuberance of early colonial Ilocano jewelry is best exemplified in this specimen where no portion was left unadorned.

My relationship with my parents
Kevin Quintero@VargasKevi23363

Mi esposa dejó de pedirme ayuda. Yo tengo 39. Ella 37. Antes me buscaba por todo. —¿Puedes ver esto? —¿Me ayudas con esto otro? —¿Qué opinas? Yo respondía… a veces. Nunca le dije que no. Nunca la ignoré por completo. Nunca la dejé sola del todo. Pero siempre estaba cansado. —Luego. —Ahorita no. —Después lo vemos. Eso era suficiente. Eso creía. Con el tiempo dejó de preguntar. Al principio no lo noté. Luego me di cuenta de algo raro. Todo estaba resuelto. Todo funcionaba. Todo estaba en orden. Sin mí. —¿Ya arreglaste eso? —pregunté un día. —Sí —respondió. —¿Y lo otro? —También. No había más conversación. No me necesitaba. Pensé que era bueno. Menos problemas. Menos presión. Hasta que pasó algo pequeño. Se dañó algo en la casa. —¿Lo vemos? —le dije. Negó. —Ya pedí a alguien. Sentí algo incómodo. —Pero yo puedo hacerlo. Me miró tranquila. —Lo sé. Silencio. —Pero ya no espero. Esa frase se quedó conmigo. Esa noche la vi organizando todo. Pagos. Cuentas. Decisiones. Todo sin preguntarme. Todo sin incluirme. —¿Por qué ya no me dices nada? —pregunté. Suspiró. —Porque me acostumbré a resolver sola. No sonó a reproche. Sonó a verdad. Me senté sin saber qué decir. Luego agregó algo más. —Esperarte también cansa. No hubo discusión. No hubo pelea. Solo claridad. Esa noche entendí algo que nadie te dice: Cuando alguien deja de necesitarte… no siempre es crecimiento. A veces es consecuencia. Y el problema no es que puedan solos… es que aprendieron a hacerlo sin contar contigo.

my current theory is that there are 3 tiers of relationships that work long term: tier 1: high chem + high compatibility. rare, almost perfect, not possible for everyone tier 2: high chem + medium compatibility. some early friction. if you work through it, it becomes tier 1. forces you to grow up tier 3: low chem + high compatibility. stable, low friction, more utility driven (kids, family, etc)

I like how teasing becomes a love language when you are fluent in a person. When you know just what it takes to steal a smile and cause a blush. It’s the price you pay for an eye roll and shared laughter. It’s calculated flirting, intimacy in disguise.

my advice to my younger friends is always to try as many thing as early in their career as possible a lot of my close friends planned their career to be in finance, and now they are feeling stuck, while unable to escape because the golden handcuff is too good to move, the uncertainty x age x stability matrix got more complicated meanwhile i was the outlier one in my year, and applied to jobs that i actually wanted to try - kindergarten assistant, fashion PR intern, conference organizer, M&A, sales and trading. No planning, just purely in it because of curiosity and learning. the best advice that i have gotten is you need a job that you are learning and earning. if you cannot find both, it should at least fulfil one.
