@JamieDe28624515 Pushing an opponent is absolutely never ever a justifiable position for handball purposes…

@RefereeC21621 Im going to disagree with you here... i think justifiable/natural position is up for debate. I think the position of his arms are easily justifiable concerning the specific situation.

@RefereeC21621 Thank you. Would have been harsh i agree but it is weird that you can snap someones ankle and be ok. What about the handball when the US defender had his arms out pushing the Socceroo and the ball hit him?

@borris_k Obviously never a foul. He was running and he came from a blind spot and suddenly ran in front of him. No way he would see him. Law requires that you are at least careless. He wasn’t.

@RefereeC21621 What's your view on the incident in the 2nd half when the USA player accidentally stepped on the Aussie players ankle in the box? It was on a break, off ball

@dufrankcheng This is a clear foul and without the foul it’s a blatant 1 vs 1 with the goalkeeper. The law is clear. Red must be given.

@RefereeC21621 It was barely a foul, even it’s a foul red card is too much given the attacker was not having the ball, I don’t like Qatar but it’s unfair.

@RefereeC21621 You say it was accidental but doesn't matter,in Messi one you said he couldn't get cautioned because it was not intentional, he went for the ball,he retracted his foot blah,blah....what is different

@matchdaymatt26 Slightest contact? He clipped his leg. Standard foul. He didn’t feel anything. This is exactly like the 2006 WC final penalty foul…

@RefereeC21621 why is the attacker rewarded for drawing contact when he’s in behind? the canada player feels the slightest contact and goes down. but when that happens in the box, they say it’s not enough for a foul. you’re gonna benefit a lot more from getting a player sent off than scoring

@notjustdad @BBCSport Pundits base opinions on emotions. They don’t know the laws, guidelines or criteria. They are there for entertainment, not to teach.

@RefereeC21621 How does one balance? This rule defies nature. As a result we have the absurd sight of defenders with arms behind their backs which, frankly, compromises their ability. This ruling hasn’t erased controversy. Pundits on @BBCSport weren’t comfortable with it, although it’s the law.

@smbdyuusd2knw Completely incorrect. That matters nothing at all. This is a handball anywhere.

@RefereeC21621 Unfortunately just like accidentally triping a person on tour to a goal scoring opportunity (which happened to sa in their last game) if the opponent disrupts the opportunity illegally (even if it was a mistake) it’s a foul.

@notjustdad Don’t extend it to the side. This is 100 % handball and several identical situations are shown at referee courses such as UEFA RAP.

@RefereeC21621 Where, prey, are defenders to naturally place their arms? Very harsh penalty.

@quinngreg GK must have at least part of 1 foot behind, on or above the line… none were.
