@ReigateRabbit Has the SCC leader been grappling with how he grabs wealth in East Surrey to pay for losses elsewhere? Can we ask the opposite question? Can we have an election to determine who we want to grapple with this question other than the current incumbent?

Cancelling elections is deeply undemocratic. Councillors need to be accountable to their electorate & although unitary authorities are desirable a rushed solution without consultation & agreement risks a bodge job #LetSurreyVote

@ReigateRabbit If he wants to do this & force it on us, it should come with the caveat that he rules himself out of being mayor if the option comes up in 2027-28. It would slightly soothe my nerves that forcing a debt mountain onto those who didn't cause it is for self serving reasons.

@RedhillWragg @ReigateRabbit Very true - as far as I am aware Reigate and Banstead is the only council in Surrey with Financial reserves. They should not be used to pay of the debts of other councils in Surrey. We need our Theatre replaced and a proper Police Station, not sent elsewhere.

The leader of Surrey Council wants to delay the local elections in May, so that he has time to work out how to further consolidate his power... I mean, so he can manage the 'unique, significant financial risk of the level of debt currently held across Surrey local govt'

Honestly @SouthernRailUK & @nationalrailenq why can’t you fix Redhill station to any reasonable state? Why have you replaced all this guttering with new plastic guttering *that still leaks*?!

The park is metres away from multiple sources of mains, which would mean future events could avoid emissions completely. Please find a way to run these events without generators.

Hi @reigatebanstead - there has been a temporary fence across the front of Reigate Priory for many months. Can you confirm if this building is being maintained in line with the listing requirements?
