Pretty interesting perspective. I agree with a lot of the stuff Pitino said. The Barn itself doesn’t hurt recruiting, but it does impact casual fans’ desire to go to games, which leads to poor attendance, which in turn hurts recruiting.

Quick rant: If I hear one more dang thing about NIL I might lose it. Ben Johnson had a McDonalds All-American and an NBA player on his roster LAST YEAR, and an NBA player the year before. There might be a dozen or more power conference programs that had less talent in the last four years. It’s obvious that the program is among the worst in the country in NIL, which made things much harder, but they had talented teams. Acting like he had a Horizon League roster is so dang lazy.
