Great day with Emma Shadle, a @PittTweet junior, who shadowed me at the state Capitol through the @PITT_IOP Legislator for a Day program. Emma is majoring in Politics-Philosophy with an Economics minor and has her sights set on law school.

Met with Kella Rice, a Master of Social Work student at the University of Pittsburgh, as part of her curriculum requirement. Had a great discussion on HB 1569, which would establish the Maternal Health Monitoring Pilot Program — a vital initiative for new mothers.

I visited the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 9 Training Center, where I experienced firsthand the exceptional training they provide. We also discussed the job opportunities available with the union in our region. I’m grateful for their time in showing me the facility.
