It's amazing - albeit also horrifying this case - how fast nature adapts to new conditions (like human hosts instead of bats). This coronavirus mutation has taken over the world. Scientists are trying to understand why. washingtonpost.com/science/2020/0…

With the climate changing so quickly, and species moving to new locations, I'm increasingly wondering if we need to re-evaluate the assumption that invader = always bad. Scientists' warning on invasive alien species onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.11…

This reef, in Savusavu Bay, Fiji, was hammered by Tropical Cyclone Winston in 2016. This picture was taken in February, exactly 4 years later. Look at all that coral! It’s wonderful to see such an amazing recovery!… instagram.com/p/CB58qgvBjQ5/…

@KatieAPeterson @bode_e So I guess the obvious normative question is: where do you come out on the risk and rewards of assisted migration? Should we be moving forward with species relocations, while trying to minimize the potential negative effects on local species? Or is it just too risky?
