This is what happens to QBs coming out of college who were not 1st round picks and thought to not be able to carry a franchise. That was the word on Hurts. The scouts and NfL press talking heads all had an opinion and it was mostly negative on Hurts coming into the league: According to PFF: “Jalen Hurts was generally viewed as a second-tier quarterback in the 2020 NFL Draft, often compared to players like Justin Herbert and Jordan Love, but considered to have a solid chance of being an above-average starter in the NFL. His ability to avoid negative throws and maintain accuracy made him a notable prospect, despite being ranked lower than the top quarterbacks in that class” So no matter what he does, they can’t bring themselves to simply tell it how it is. 4 years, never missed the playoffs, won 2 NFC Championships, won 1 SB, SB MVP. They say he can’t throw. Well, I guess he isn’t flashy when IT DOESN’T MATTER. But guess what, when it’s necessary, he delivers in a big way and he wins. It’s not even arguable at this point. Is he perfect, hell no. Could he improve in some areas, yes. Has he progressed, yes. Results matter. Hurts gets them. And if you think he wont get better over time, well thats foolish. And just think what happens as he improves? What will be the result? Inevitability.
