🚨 You are head of recruitment at your club. You have to prioritise one signing for next season…. WHO ARE YOU SIGNING? Don’t be silly this isn’t Football Manager. I don’t want to see someone saying they want Mbappe at AFC Wimbledon…. Let’s see what you’ve got!

Reports from Spain, are suggesting a €200m (£173m) budget. I will be pleasantly surprised if that's the case, let the rumours begin.

Dodgy source but if numbers are correct any club who gets him will be getting a very good deal. Wants just over £80k per week 🤯🤯 We was rumoured to be paying mings £100k & dendoncker £90k....just shows some of the shocking contracts we have given out in the past.
Nicolò Schira@NicoSchira

Marcos #Senesi asks a salary of 5M/year. He has turned down #Juventus and #BVB bids in the last days. #Juve had offered a contract until 2030 (€3M/year), but the centre-back wants more and his priority is to stay in Premier League. #transfers

Bayern Munich have broken the Bundesliga goals record as they got to 105 goals for the season. There are still 5 games to go and that means at their current scoring rate, they can reach over 120 league goals this season. For comparison, La Liga’s goals record by a single team is held by Real Madrid who scored 121 goals in the 2011/12 season under Jose Mourinho. Manchester City hold the Premier League goals record — 106 in the 2017/18 season. Torino hold the record in the Serie A. They scored 125 goals in the 1947/48 season in a 21-team league and 40-game campaign. In a 20-team league, Atalanta hold that record for their 98 goals in 2019/20 season. They finished third that season. These are fantastic numbers. And the top scorers often end up becoming the winner. For deeper context to how varied football can be, there have been times low scoring teams end up becoming champions. Valencia in 2001/02 under Rafael Benitez scored 51 goals in 38 games to emerge La Liga champions. AC Milan under Fabio Capello in 1993/94 season scored 36 goals in 34 games. Thirty-six in thirty-four. Leicester City’s 68-goal season in 2015/16 and Man United 68 goals in 2008/09 is the least scored by a Premier League champion in recent memory. If Arsenal emerge champions, it's highly likely they'll do so with one of the lowest goals tally in Premier League history, based on their current scoring rates. Football has such a wide beret.

In a previous transfer window, Aston Villa tried to sign Manuel Ugarte on loan but Manchester United turned down the approach 🇺🇾 ✍️ - [@jpromeroh via @ovacionuy] I wonder if this was in January when we were short in midfield and ended up signing Douglas Luiz on loan? 🤔 #avfc

@StanCollymore But which players, Stan? The only players we've bought in that time are Guessand, Lindelof, Bizot, Alysson, and Abraham! Surely we don't need to bribe any of them to come to the club? Unless we gave huge agent fees to Kamara and Rogers to sign new deals?

And therein lies the problem for Villa at the moment. Were effectively "bribing" ( not literal use of the word) agents and players to come to Villa over being on the bench for Chelsea, United and City by paying over yhe going rate for their services. "Here Agent X, get your client to come to or stay at Villa and we'll pay you more than moving elsewhere ". Football realpolitik.
Mike Keegan@MikeKeegan_DM

🚨 BREAKING 💰 Premier League clubs spent a record £460.3m on agents fees over 2025-26, up from £409.1m last year. 🔵Chelsea top spenders (£65.1m) followed by Villa (£38.4m) and City (£37.4m)

@TalkinTactics @Alex_Berwick Rogers is the one reliable attacker though. He’s the one that has to stay. Malen, Guessand, Barrenechea, Buendia, and Bailey bring you in £80m. Use that to buy two extra quality attackers. Easier said than done, especially with our recent recruitment

@Alex_Berwick Not saying it is easy…I think Martinez has been up and down for a few years so could’ve been replaced fairly easily. Watkins a tougher one. They should sell Rogers this summer IMO and reinvest in 2/3 attackers.

The sign of a good team is being able to name their starting XI. The sign of a team that has got their recruitment wrong for the last few years is STILL being able to name 70% of that same starting XI. Martinez, Cash, Konsa, Mings, Luiz, Bailey, Buendia, Watkins…

Look forward to someone in the media actually acknowledging the REAL issues at #NUFC right now 👍🏼 - Howe’s stale, uninspired tactics - Pope’s costly weekly errors - £100m summer flops Elanga & Wissa - Flogging Trippier to a sorry state - “Captain” Murphy (4 goals in 40 games)
