However 2021 class kids that went D1 out of HS and played 4 consecutive years (no redshirts of any kind) ended their eligibility with the 24/25 season and did not receive a 5th year. To be fair the NCAA needs to start the new 5 year rule in the 27/28 season

The 2022 baseball recruiting class got screwed from the start. They walked into the NIL explosion, fought for playing time behind COVID super-seniors, navigated nonstop transfer chaos, and didn’t even have full scholarships until THIS YEAR. Now the new 5-to-play-5 rule gives every younger class a full extra season while they get cut off at 4. Fair fix: True 4th-year seniors deserve ONE optional 5th year at their current school only. No transferring for the extra year. Minimal impact. @NCAABaseball @NCAA
