The older many neurodivergent people get, the less interested they become in appearing normal. Not because they've given up. Because they're tired of performing. There is a freedom that comes from realizing: You don't need to earn your right to exist by making other people comfortable. You don't have to justify every quirk. Every need. Every accommodation. You are allowed to build a life around how your brain actually works instead of spending your life apologizing for it.

I want to introduce you to Steve. He’s 83. His wife died a few months ago and he comes to this lodge in Spring Mill, Indiana and draws. He taught art in Terre Haute, IN his whole life. He also did courtroom sketches in court cases. In the comments I’ll share some pics from his sketchbook. He was excited when I said I was going to share his sketches with the world.

Gen Z entering the corporate workforce with zero work ethic is going to collapse the economy. They expect a $90k salary, full remote flexibility, and four weeks of PTO for an entry-level job. The moment a manager gives them constructive feedback, they call it a "toxic workplace" and quit. You actually have to pay your dues and work hard before you start demanding executive-level perks. The entitlement is completely out of control and older generations are sick of dealing with it.

A neurodivergent person once said: "I don't overthink because I want to. I overthink because my brain refuses to leave a tab open without checking what's inside." One comment becomes ten interpretations. One decision becomes twenty possible outcomes. One mistake becomes a full documentary series with interviews, reenactments, and expert analysis. People say, "Just stop thinking about it." If it were that simple, we would have done it years ago.

I like the idea! I hope the Airpods tip might work for someone, they’re pretty expensive to just ‘test out’ and not know for sure they’ll work for you. So make sure to check into the model and the features of it. (My biggest issue with other in-ear headphones is the shape/fit) They are as comfortable as something could be that’s in my autistic ear haha

@RobBroRob @Be_like_legend Thanks for the tip about the airpod, I will definitively give it a try! ; About sunglasses I hope some day someone will invent some kind of connected sunglasses where u can adjust the opacity, tint, color,... of the glass. no need for 12 sunglasses anymore :) that's an idea

Autistic folks, what accommodation have you put in place for yourself that sounds ridiculous to everyone else but makes perfect sense to your brain?
