We saw today the dignity and decency that Keir has brought to being our Prime Minister. He has achieved so much, not least bringing Labour back into government and restoring the UK’s reputation on the world stage. We owe him our profound thanks for his service to our country.

Whatever one thinks of Starmer, a prime minister being forced to resign simply for being unpopular, rather than as a result of any scandal or specific or policy disaster, breaks new ground. But this is where we are now.
