@ClayTravis No. College football needs to ditch the committee model. Too much bias. Clear criteria for entry, no exceptions, no bias, no subjectivity. Like almost every other sport out there.

Could Trump actually expand the college football playoff to 16 via executive order? It sounds crazy, but who would sue to stop him? Maybe the teams that would get byes, but they would get home playoff games. He ended men in women’s sports via executive order, much bigger move there.

If the national championship was defended every week, the current champion would be Florida. Michigan was the champion until they got beat by Texas, who lost to Georgia, who lost to Ole Miss. Florida’s win over Ole Miss means they are the champions until someone beats them.

Why is 11-1 Oregon a lock for the #cfp but 11-1 BYU is not?

@DavidEickholt I guess it all depends on how you define success. If 10 is a national championship, I’d give it a 7. 8-4 is exactly where I had them finishing.

@gregwrubell I want a 4 team playoff of conference champs from the P4. So much simpler. Everyone else plays in exciting bowl games. Don’t win your conference? Why deserve a chance at a natty? Don’t belong in the P4? Then, you’re not the best team in the country (including ND).

Texas A&M could make SEC champ game w/o playing Ole Miss, Bama, UGA, OU, Vandy. GTech could make ACC title game w/o playing Miami, Lville, UVA, SMU, Duke. Ohio St could make B1G title game w/o playing Oregon, Indiana, Iowa, USC. This is not a good way to determine a champion.

@TheRickWebster This feels the Indiana game. 4-5 plays (like Wetjen’s fumble or the bad long snap) is the difference. I know it’s a counterfactual but if Wetjen doesn’t fumble there, you probably put 3 on the board. Oregon would have needed a TD to win.
