Amaryllis hotel scandal: Activist Kamangila reported to ACB Whistleblower and activist Alexious Kamangila has been reported to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and the Malawi Police by Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairperson Steven Baba Malondera Kamsiyamo in relation to the Amaryllis Hotel inquiry. According to a formal complaint, Kamsiyamo accuses Kamangila of "corruption overreaches". Kamangila has thus reported to the ACB and law enforcement authorities for further investigation. Kamangila, known for his outspoken activism and whistleblowing on governance issues, had recently turned the tables on Kamsiyamo by reporting him to the ACB over allegations that he received millions from a businessperson in Lilongwe. The business kingpin reportedly had dealings with the Chakwera administration. Kamangila alleged that the money was paid to Kamsiyamo to influence the outcome of the Amaryllis Hotel inquiry. Our curse runs deep, with low production base, low export diversification(some are even dwindling atm) & High reliance on foreign imported products , even with disciplined policy this only fixes things temporarily. We need a long term fix.

“Devaluations don’t work in Malawi” — a common view. The problem isn’t devaluation. It’s what follows. If money supply keeps expanding at 30%+, inflation quickly erodes the adjustment. So the currency is devalued again. And again. Not because devaluation fails — but because fiscal and monetary policy don’t change. Devaluation without discipline is just a reset.

@realKwameOffei I think a part of it is because democracy itself was/is a tool primary conceptualised to solve western politics issues, for it to function in a non western context, it has to be tweaked or left alone completely

This is a wild generalisation. It is based on personal anecdote, not representative evidence.
Africa has 54 countries and more than a billion people with very different political views, so saying “many Africans love Trump” without data is broad, subjective, and analytically weak.
At best, what Larry is really saying is, “I personally encounter a lot of Africans who support Trump.” That reflects his experience, not the continent.
Anecdote is not data, and personal encounters cannot be elevated into a continental conclusion.

Many Africans love President Trump's conservative values and straight talk. I said that on CNN and some accused me of lying. Africa is not a monolith, of course, but I travel around it full time and I meet more Trump fans than haters. Where do you stand?
