wow, i didn't expect this from elon but he basically admitted two big things: "china is leading the AI race globally, and google is leading it in the west" yes, in the end, open-source AI wins. open-source models will only be 3–4 months behind the top labs -- but they have a bigger base, grow faster, and hold the stronger long-term edge

@akaahimbe @fueki_lee It's definitely abuse but this is a technique to immunise yourself from it's effect. When you don't care about being shamed or embarrassed (by intentionally subduing your ego), it stops getting to you. All the abusive words are like pouring water off a ducks back.

I swore I will never specialise in OnG during morning review when a grown man was presenting and he eyes were red and full with tears as the Consultants tore him a new one. Imagine working through the night, saved like 5 mothers and their babies and still they are drawing and quartering you during morning review for so and so reason. That's just morning review ooh, imagine how mortality review go come be, hell fire..

Elon actually just admitted defeat in the AI race. Finally some clarity.

Just realised I should not only be a YouTube content consumer but a content producer too. I have been leaving too much on the table. Starting today.

I'm seeing African founders building some really, really interesting things these days, going deep into what is structurally changing with the use of AI. I mean everything from semiconductors to robotics to oil & gas to pharma to fish. For the first time, our pipeline isn't absolutely dominated by fintech and its happened faster than I thought it would. It's also increasingly clear that the bottleneck on "venture backability" on the continent is shifting from product to customer discovery & sales. Given what's possible, there's so much more market to take, but it's also never been easier to spin up quality software and hardware to tackle exciting problems. However, the very best teams we come across can sell convincingly and early to 'lighthouse' customers and permeate their workflows before the crowd catches up. They can then validate the shape and size of that demand, tailor and compound their intelligence using proprietary data, and go out to lock down a fundraising advantage. Flywheel spins.

SAD BUT TRUE 😢 WHAT A WRITE UP! Akara and Pap was breakfast served every morning in a hostel of 100 people. Out of the 100, 80 didn’t like it. They complained daily, saying they were tired and wanted something different. But the remaining 20 were satisfied. They liked it just as it was. To solve the issue, the warden introduced a simple rule: Every night, everyone would vote for what they wanted to eat the next morning. The meal with the highest number of votes would be served. So every night, the 20 who loved Akara and Pap voted for it—with one voice. But the 80 who didn’t like it were never united. Their votes went in different directions: 18 for Bread and Tea 16 for Yam and Egg Sauce 14 for Jollof Rice 12 for Spaghetti 10 for Indomie 10 for Moi Moi and Pap Can u guess what the result was every single time? Akara and Pap kept winning, Not because it was the best, but because the people who didn’t want it were too divided to agree on anything else. In Nigeria, many are tired of the same old hardship, bad governance and recycled leadership. We know who and what the real problems are. But even those who want change are divided—along tribal lines, party names, personal interest, ego, ambition etc. 2027 might seem far away, but it's already around the corner. If we don’t learn from this story, we will wake up again to another bitter round of the same “meal” we’ve been served for ages. This Is a Salient Message THERE'S POWER IN UNITY, NOT JUST IN NUMBERS. A United Minority Is More Formidable Than A Divided Majority. FOOD FOR THOUGHT © Unknown Author

A breakthrough in real-time video generation. As a research preview developed with @NVIDIA and shared at @NVIDIAGTC this week, we trained a new real-time video model running on Vera Rubin. HD videos generate instantly, with time-to-first-frame under 100ms. Unlocking an entirely new creative paradigm and bolstering the foundations of our General World Model, GWM-1. Real-time generation opens a fundamentally different design space for video models and world simulation. We're investing in co-designing our models alongside advances in hardware to keep pushing this frontier.
