@RaisingTheJay @crimpyZOO_fn We'll have to wait, maybe the Java Overhaul to Vulkan will incentive modders to update their mods, this happens mostly because everyone builds their mods in specific versions to make giant modpacks with mods compatible between them

@crimpyZOO_fn java desperately needs these kinds of mods for modern versions but everyone is focused on updating and making mods for versions that become less stable as the years go by

It sucks that Java is so much more capable, and has so much more resources, but stuff like this will never be on Java without money as an incentive

@Nathan2Truths I'd say the entire prelude is Doom coded, once you get other weapons, once more complex enemies appear, it varies heavily from Doom, Doom you need to track your ammo, the weapon upgrades are linear (Ultrakill variants aren't necessarily an upgrade) and it's mostly like DMC

@linyacat Ok, I see you make a joke and I understand the issue with dopamine and questbooks, but once you play modpacks with these you realize most of them is optional and the progression isn't linear, the Only modpacks that are somewhat linear are the ones with tech ages, apologies

@RustedMako I never said I had an issue with the idea of an information book, I dunno where you got that from I just dislike the format of quests personally as a preference thing, and think quest driven modpacks give certain goals and digital praise/dopamine so I made a joke about it..?

Minecraft modpacks with quests are for bottoms with no free will tbh

@linyacat You just like to make things harder, why would any modpack make an specific guidebook when it exists an universal way to make it? The questbook is essentially a guidebook that every modpack uses, for people who play a lot of modpacks it's easier to recognize the questbook

@linyacat That's why questbook exists, the creator of the modpack explains how they changed certain things with custom addons to make compatible the 400+ mods, most of the questlines are only the early game, midgame + you can pretty much make whatever you want.

@RustedMako uh, JEI can see those though..? it checks serverside loaded recipes specifically. And addons support pretty much any custom recipe from my own experience. I make my own modpacks and I never ran into this issue, just seems like you're skill issuing by using some weird software

@linyacat You don't understand my point, the Modpack creator makes CUSTOM addons that are not outside of the modpack, these addons change every recipe, function or machinery to prevent some mods to powercreep others. These changes are not supported by any addon, hence why Questbook exist

@RustedMako uh, there's addons for it that tell you that so skill issue...? also most good mods have in game manuals, which are way better than quests :3

@linyacat Sometimes the JEI doesn't says that you need to reach certain tier, or doesn't say that certain drops are changed nor what drop them. I had this problem with Skyblock modpacks trying to understand how to get rubber and I had to change completely the machine from it's OG design.
