I made another landscape flythrough from the world of #CyanEyed. This shot took about 5 months to render made with #Terragen.

@justinthxroux please stop adding to the false narrative of there being no CGI in Betelgeuse (as mentioned on Jimmy Fallon), this is disrespectful to the hundreds of VFX and CG artists that worked on the film.

@ann1hilus @HollywoodHandle To continue, in the credits of films with VFX in it, you will typically see under the VFX Supe these two roles: CG Supervisor and Compositing Supervisor. The CG supe takes care of the 3D pipeline, and the comp supe takes care of the 2D pipeline.

@HollywoodHandle Can someone explain the difference between cgi and vfx? Genuinely asking, I have no idea.

@ann1hilus @HollywoodHandle All CGI is VFX, but not all VFX is CGI. Typically CG (no one in the industry calls it 'CGI') refers to 3D as well as comp. While VFX could mean just comp or comp and 3D (CG). But this is all moot, as this film definitely has CGI in it.

@HollywoodHandle Not this crap again. This film definitely has CGI and VFX in it, a bunch of friends are working on the film.

@cartoonbrew It might help films that only get into Tribeca, but if a film is being considered/selected for more than one other festival, it is the same issue. But still would rather have this option than none at all.

My wife painted this wonderful background for the first animated short film I directed.

It took over a year of development coming up with what I understood to be at the time a completely novel look for an animated short film in a single 6 minute shot. The Nuke script got so large near the end of production, that I was editing it in a text editor to save time.

@ShannonTindle_1 The painful part about all of this is that clueless producers in Hollywood buy in to this 'no VFX' train, and that may result in being convinced that VFX budgets should be less than they need to, which contributes to more under bidding, etc...
