@puckempire Funny thing is, he could win the cup and the con Smythe and the label would remain because what he does in Vegas doesn’t change what he did in Toronto. He still completed a 6 year contract without scoring 1 single goal in an elimination game. That isn’t changing lol.

Mitch Marner is at an interesting point in his career, has played well up until the Cup final, was a ghost in game five when his team needed him the most and if he's a ghost again tonight with the Cup on the line, the playoff choker label we all thought he shed still remains.

@MikeBartner The year McDavid had like 43/45 points was unbelievable and nobody will touch that for a while . But the following year where he posted 33 points in 22 GP I believe is not so far off from what Marner is doing . Marner absolutely DRAGGED Vegas to a cup final basically by himself

He hasn’t, but also no one on the Canes have been at Bobrovsky/Barkov 2024 level. The gap is similar.
Again I’d vote for a Canes player assuming they win tonight and Marner doesn’t have like a hat trick, but it’s not a ridiculous take to say Marner is the overall playoff MVP.

I’d swap Matheson for Nurse.
Matheson is too arrogant and will never be put as 3LHD under this coach.
He’s also not physical. And unless we’re signing Mcdavid🙄 we don’t need cap space.
