@betty_nft Musicians and other Artists could definitely benefit from Web3/NFT/blockchain tech, especially when it comes to DRM and distribution, but good luck getting everyone to agree on an industry standard.

Music shouldn’t be free just like art shouldn’t be free. You should be able to appreciate music & art but the creators need to benefit because we don’t live in a post capitalist utopia where shelter food and water are all accessible. Music NFTs are an experimental disruption.

Music NFTs failed because the hype did not meet reality. Collecting music needs to be free and accessible at scale. It's not realistic for every artist to promise tickets, merch + meet & greets. Or for songs to cost thousands of dollars. Music NFTs walked so open editions could run.
