@rbarbosa91 @SAGES_Updates We will transfer if patient/family agrees to pay transport cost. I’ve never actually had someone pay and thus never had someone transferred laterally to similar level of care. We transport to rehab, SNF, LTAC as close to home as possible.

A polytrauma patient is admitted who will likely have a lengthy hospital stay. Family requests transfer to Hospital X in another city because patient and family live there. The transfer would be ‘lateral’…(NOT to a higher level of care). Does this ever happen in your area?

@EdKrassen They should control the food our kids receive. Kids can’t make those decisions without some guidance. Poor diet not only leads to chronic illness but to immediate issue with performance. Both sides have their own brand of fascism. They can’t meet in the middle.

The USDA is considering limiting certain foods and drinks like chocolate milk in schools in order to “reduce children’s risk of chronic disease.” These sugar-laden drinks would only be available in high school if this proposal is accepted.. Many people on both the left and the right are not happy with this suggestion. They believe that their kids should have the right do drink chocolate milk even if it could potentially cause chronic diseases in certain children. Personally I don’t agree with it. However, I find it very hypocritical. Those on the right who are strongly against this also are, in some cases, OK with school libraries prohibiting books like “And Tango Makes Three” and “Anne Frank’s Diary: The Graphic Adaptation." Those on the left who are strongly opposed to removing books from schools, and in some cases are against removing books like “Gender Queer” which show questionable “pornographic-like" illustrations, are completely for banning chocolate milk. Why can’t we all just find a happy medium? Why does everything needs to be so binary? Are we all hypocrites to some degree? If parents don't want their kids to drink chocolate milk, then the parents should request they don't drink it. If parents don't want their kids reading books about 2-male penguins raising a baby together, then they should request their kids don't access that book.

@EdKrassen One was disgusting locker room bravado (virtual assault) and a reason I quit high school football (the other is I was not good at high school football). This guy gave a metaphorical middle finger up to a lot of people but is on brand. Silly at best, disrespectful for sure.

So let me get this straight: According to some people, John Fetterman should be expelled from Congress for wearing a hoodie to a Senate press conference. But Trump bragging about grabbing women by their private parts is just “locker room talk.” Why is it that hoodies should disqualify someone from holding office but seemingly bragging about sexual assault gets a free pass?

@EdKrassen Regardless of 2h or 10 minutes, high speed or low speed, they probably have ensured 4h and twice the paparazzi next time.

UPDATE: New York City Mayor Eric Adams just spoke regarding the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle incident. ‘I would find it hard to believe that there was a two-hour high speed chase. I find that hard to believe, but we will find out the exact duration of it. But if it’s a 10 minute chase — A 10 minute chase is extremely dangerous in New York City.”

BREAKING: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were in a ‘near catastrophic’ car chase overnight, after being pursued by paparazzi for over 2 hours. This took place in New York City. The official statement from a spokesperson representing the couple said “Last night, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Ms. Ragland were involved in a near catastrophic car chase at the hands of a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi. This relentless pursuit, lasting over two hours, resulted in multiple near collisions involving other drivers on the road, pedestrians and two NYPD officers… While being a public figure comes with a level of interest from the public, it should never come at the cost of anyone's safety.” There were several vehicles chasing them. These vehicles were running red lights, driving on sidewalks and more. Why should this type of stalking and harassment be permitted in the United States, or anywhere? Why didn't anyone stop them? Haven’t we learned anything from the Princess Diana crash? Why can’t people just allow others to live their lives no matter how famous they are?

@BBankheadMD Placing an entire population of people into an abstract category is how our mind attempts to control situations, groups of people, etc. They all imply hierarchy, directly or indirectly. Inclusive addresses such as you all, ye all, and y’all are better.
