Our last reading group focused on transitions! How have you found students' transition back to school?

Our next reading group will look at definitions and identification of dyslexia. We will meet for an hour on Saturday 10th April. Which time would you prefer?

What do you wish you'd known about #dyslexia as a trainee? I find that most of my #SEND knowledge has been learnt on the job!

Our last reading group focused on transitions! In your experience, who has struggled most with returning to school: pupils who had been learning remotely from home, or those who had been in for keyworker/vulnerable provision? Comment below to tell us more!

Academic research shows parents of disabled children experience 'combat-like' levels of stress. But it also assumes the source of stress is the disabled child themselves... I DISAGREE... so I wrote a list of actual sources of stress. What would you add? passthesaltwater.com/2021/03/24/an-…

Anxiety is an ever growing concern in our classrooms. What resources/ideas do you have in mind to alleviate the anxieties around return to f2f learning? We'll be discussing it in our next reading group! psyarxiv.com/tm69k

psyarxiv.com/tm69k 25% of parents in this study said they needed support to re-establish routines for pupils returning to f2f education. We'll be discussing the practicalities of this in our next reading group! In the meantime though we'd love to hear your ideas.

Okay, so if young children are going to back to school next week, then all the grown-ups need to pay close attention to how the transition is feeling for them. Some youngsters will be dying to see their pals. Others will be anxious. Lots of talking & LISTENING beforehand is key.
