This morning, we honored the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice. We are saddened each time a new name is added to the Missouri Law Enforcement Memorial’s Wall of Honor, but we are moved by the officers’ heroism, the strength of their families, and the unity of the brothers and sisters of law enforcement who gathered here today.

The Missouri Capitol dome shines blue this weekend as we honor and remember the law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice. It takes great courage, strength, and commitment for law enforcement officers to put on their uniform each day knowing that their duty requires them to run toward the dangers that others flee. We have a responsibility to honor the fallen and ensure they are never forgotten.

An NYPD officer was shot by a career criminal—and still walked away. The suspect left on a gurney. Why was this violent offender even on the street? How many more officers have to face this? We’re just grateful the officer wasn’t hurt worse. Pass the Protect and Serve Act, protect those who are willing to sacrifice everything. #EnoughIsEnough #BackTheBlue
