South Lanarkshire Swimming

Another good SNAGS for SLS finishing as 4th team for the second year in a row. Great job swimmers and coaches.

Another fantastic swim from Evi Mackie, this time in the 50 free taking bronze in a great pb.

The first couple of days sees three medals for South Lanarkshire swimmers at the Aquatics GB Next Gen Championships. (Preferred British Summer Meet)Bronze medals for Evi Mackie in the 1500 freestyle, Bjorn-Sebastian Aaen in the 400 freestyle and Coco Croxford in the 200 fly.

Another silver and Scottish Junior title tonight - 200 IM

It’s 3 silvers tonight for the USLX girls in the Scottish National Open Championships. Ev Mackie 2nd in the 400 IM and Junior Champion, Coco Croxford 2nd in the 200 FLY and Lucy Hunter 2nd in the 1500 FREE. Well done girls

Now it’s on to London next week for the British. Safe travels and fast swimming.

Late update- Evi Mackie of SLS and Lanark wins the top 16 and under girl award. Well done Evi and Coach Karen Kelly.

In the last race of the meet for SLS in the 4x100 mixed medley it’s 9th place for Emma McGavin, Craig Shaw, Coco Croxford and Thomas Traynor. A really good performance to round off the meet with a 4th place overall in the team points. Great job SLS swimmers and coaches.

In the 11-13yrs 100 breast, Ailsa Chand moves up 2 places to take 8th and in the 14 yrs Anna Law takes 10th

It’s another 1-2 for Evi Mackie and Lucy Hunter in the 16yrs 200 freestyle, both in fabulous times.

In the 11-13 yrs 200 free it was 4th for Emily Taylor and 6th for Casey Crisp

It was 5th places for Finlay Bennett (16) and Thomas Traynor (17-18) in the 200 IM

In the 50s it’s a 9th for Cameron O’Donnell in the back snd a 5th for Coco Croxford in the fly

The 11-13 girls do a relay double taking the 4x100 medley relay in convincing fashion with a team of Niamh Shields, Ailsa Chand, Emily Taylor and Beth Gillies. Once again excellent swimming.

Ailsa Chand goes into the 11-13 100 breast final with Heidi Addison 2nd reserve and Anna Law moves into the 14yrs final
