@MSSQLServerDBA In se dbcc checkdb runs single threaded (not sure if you can change that). When I’ve enabled page compression the trade off against less physical io is cpu usage. I’m guessing you are consuming a single cpu and bumping up against the limit of what that one cpu can do.

I just enabled page compression for all of the databases on a SQL 2022 SE server and DBCC CHECKDB has gone from 2 hours to 5 hours. I've never noticed this before. Has anyone else? Old slow spinning disks #sqlhelp

@chronark If it is an int data type take the quotes off and it should pick up the index

@chronark What’s the data type on id. You’re forcing it to a character data type by putting the value in quotes since the data types might not match

@booler @markrendle Did it to me and it was never the same after. Brand new laptop I bought and it committed suicide. During covid I had nowhere to go to show them the trash they sold me.

@markrendle Mac OS is a bit clunky. I have to install third party software for window tiling and a volume mixer? Wut. But at least I can close the laptop lid and it really suspends, instead of waking back up in my bag and cooking itself in the process like every Windows laptop ever.

Bunch of Mac Lifers insisting that macOS is “just better” than Windows and I’d love to see their working. What, exactly, makes macOS better? Because I find it clunky and awkward. C’mon, @ me.

Mac developers have been patiently waiting when Apple will finally ship either a touchscreen Macbook, or allow the Mac OS to run on iPads (making them a portable Macbook alternative) Apple has not done it: but Microsoft has. And it's supposedly a more capable machine than a Mac:

Every Twitter/x post I see is a question. Nobody just says what’s on their mind. Only people with good content seem to do that. If the post starts with what/how/who/why I scroll on now.

@upen946 I don’t consider starting a company a side project. If you’re being real about it you dive in head first and commit. It’s not always that easy financially but end game should be that what you’re building will be a real company.

👋👋 I bet most founders making $1K/m can easily get a job for $100K/year if they are serious at it. But still these founders chose $1K/m and take a chance. Do you prefer taking chances? Or do you prefer safe bet with full-time job and side project?

@fraserdeans I make a list. I do the easiest thing on it first and check it off. After I get motivation to keep going.
