The best salespeople don’t sell. They ask good questions, listen carefully, and then show you the thing you already wanted but couldn’t articulate. That’s it. That’s the whole job. Works for enterprise SaaS. Works for indie apps. Works for everything.

The biggest lesson from selling six-figure SaaS deals: Nobody buys features. They buy outcomes. “Our app has 47 integrations” = nobody cares “We’ll save your team 10 hours a week” = where do I sign Indie devs — your landing page probably has this backwards.

My wife and I just had a baby. She started giving me tasks. I kept forgetting them. So I downloaded a “honey do” app. And it hit me — this app is great. And it’s making zero dollars. That’s when @FirstSignal_ went from an idea to a real thing.

I’ve spent years selling software to Fortune 500 companies. The one thing I know for sure: the best product doesn’t always win. The best-positioned product does. That’s what most indie founders get wrong — and it’s what I’m going to talk about here.
