Monitoring: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) confirmed the death of a camp Comander Hussnain Shahwani (Alias: Maqbool). Hussnain Shahwani, also known by the alias Maqbool, was a member of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA). He was the son of Ibrahim Shahwani and a resident of Killi Kark in Mastung district. According to the group, he joined the BLA on 22 October 2022 and later rose to the position of Camp Commander and commander of the Fateh Squad, operating primarily in the Mastung and Kalat regions. The BLA stated that Shahwani was regarded within the organisation as a capable and experienced field commander. The group said he was entrusted with leadership responsibilities due to his military skills, organisational role, and ability to command fighters during operations. As commander of the Fateh Squad, he reportedly led members of the unit in a number of engagements and was involved in the group's activities across Mastung, Kalat, and surrounding areas. According to the organisation, Shahwani participated in Operations Herof I and Herof II, serving as both a frontline fighter and commander. During Herof II, the BLA said he led Fateh Squad fighters on the Mastung front and played a role in the operation's activities in the area. The group further claimed that he was involved in expanding its organisational structure and implementing its military strategy in territories where it maintained a presence. The BLA stated that Shahwani was responsible for overseeing defensive positions in areas under the group's control and was involved in efforts to counter advances by Pakistani forces. It also claimed that he remained active in frontline operations during the organisation's movements into urban areas. According to the BLA, Hussnain Shahwani was killed on 1 June 2026 during fighting in the Kardigap area of Mastung. The group described his death as occurring while he was engaged in combat on the battlefield.

A local journalist from Balochistan, Muhammad Shah Dotani, has reportedly been arrested by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in Quetta. Authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the reasons for his arrest or any charges against him.
