This is true. When browsing the front page and trending tabs Big games sponsored by the typical corporate entity has little fan-fare compared to the grass-root developer. It takes something really special to create an image that players can relate with. I always recall back to my highschool essays where one of the big questions to answer before writing anything is "Who is your audience?".... Let alone "What do they want" (Which half the time is less important). I think this lesson is lost on many young developers. Although many of them find short-term success by just throwing things at a wall. Which is a valid learning process.

Roblox “Companies” are only consolidating in a desperate attempt to stay relevant. The narrative for the last 7 years in Roblox has been that when “professionals” and “big studios” arrive that independent developers will become irrelevant and won’t have the resources to compete. The opposite has occurred, the traditional bloat, slow approval processes and general lack of creativity has shown that these companies aren’t well positioned to new age game development. How is the broader gaming industry going to react when for the last 10 years 70% of all gamers have grown accustomed to the gameplay trends and design patterns we have developed. They look at Roblox as low quality and esoteric, little do they know the design trends, user experience, gameplay loops is what players expect these days.

@jandelRblx Did it take you 8 years of RoDev to be able to make Grow a Garden this big or do you think if this was your first ever project it still would have done numbers? My answer is it took you all this time to understand what the Roblox Player yearns for and the skills & friendships to implement it big time. A lot of discourse calling you a "cash-grab" or "villian", but to me you're an inspiration & a Hero. The first step to great success is understanding "the game". Thank you @jandelRblx. Name a deadlier one-shot than Video Game addiction + Autism. I've seen it in kids and in adults. Scoliosis occurs in the neck for them not the spine. Parents have no support in what discipline looks like and when they try people say "s/he's just a child." They cant even say "no" to their child. Keep your kids safe but don't hide them from the reality of the world. Earth is a dense and deadly jungle, if they can't handle their parents push-back there's just no hope for them, truly.
