@elliottswrstlin It'd be close for early Surfer Sting, but Darby has had a better match catalogue than WCW Crow Sting, and I struggle to believe anybody arguing otherwise has revisited WCW.

@LucyisjustLucy Convinced this discourse is dominated by fed-only fans who hink MJF looks and talks like a wrestler and Darby doesn't for shallow reasons. The reaction has been ridiculous. I'd have preferred a longer match to a squash, but any mild disappointment I felt for 5 seconds is over.

I haven't said a word because even a basic 'yeah I'm OK with it' gets accusations of dickriding and 'defending everything AEW does' on here. I've had way more hate and abuse for my positive takes than any criticism I've ever made (except for political posts). Of any company not just AEW, the one time I said something nice about CM Punk people got real mad and I deleted it. I'm learning not to share joy or approval if it's something unpopular. Not related to recent booking particularly but overall as a wrestling fan. I'm learning to be more critical and 'unbiased' and it's much less fun. I've found myself looking for things to criticise so I'm not accused of toxic positivity and that's not who I am. I don't think twitter is the place for me tbh

@ruzu_carlos Despite the makeup and Darby using the finishers, they're as different as wrestlers as it's possible to be. The reaction to Darby's win is hyperbolic and will likely be looked back on as silly when MJF returns after voluntarily leaving to go film a movie.

MJF hasn't been buried. He left to film a film, so Darby got his surprise moment of jubilation. Nobody on here knows what anything means. The main event scene of AEW is still in strong shape. MJF will get another run. Hoping it's Ospreay v Omega at All In.
