No. fk no. Do not change the requirements because the CC is running near a minimum threshold. Run the CC with a proper threshold so governance halts are not a concern if one person retires or leaves... Build your system with redundancy & resilience in mind.... like the rest of us do. $ADA #CardanoCommunity

A minfee is certainly a more egalitarian requirement than mincost. Small pools that make a block every few epochs simply cannot compete with larger pools that make multiple each epoch. The damage to lifetime ROS only gets worse the longer that situation exists. These incentives do not promote decentralization if the only pools with a competitive ROS are those near saturation. As a SPO running a small pool for 5 years without a single instance of IOG or CF delegation, I personally would prefer zero restrictions so I can prioritize growth & consistent block production.

no we dont need a minCost, but we need a proper minFee for all pools. so every pool is on the same level and no minCost threshold for smaller ones. but, it must be on a sustainable level so spos can run there stuff with it and get some extras. something in the range between 5-10%.

Is it still necessary for mincost to exist? We will see a massive reduction in SPOs if we do not address this. MAV is at stake, imho. @IOGCharles @IOGroup @SmaugPool @bigpey This seems to be a major barrier for small pools to compete, especially considering block reward reduction over time. I think it’s time this is addressed.
