I think there's a point to be made here. Old games were genuinely good BY THE STANDARD OF THEIR TIME. The original Resident Evil was genre defining when it came out, but if it was to come out the same way today, it would certainly be poorly reviewed for its outdated graphics, poor controls, uninspiring story, and awful voice acting. The same goes for many other old classics.
