My parents were pretty young when they had me so there was never a huge generation gap and me and my dad had similar tastes in music. When he died in 2007 I added his CD collection to mine and nothing brings more vibrant memories of him than playing them. I think he'd like that.

One of the more obscure formats in my #JAWS collection: the CED Videodisc. Released in 1981 after 17 years of development, it was already outdated by VHS, Betamax and LaserDisc. A commercial failure, but a very cool and rare format! 🦈📀 More: @jawsmad1975

I’m fascinated by the many quirks of physical filmmaking that are now lost. How do the textless elements (supposedly higher generationally) have less image than prints?

@la_riviere To be fair, TLRs can be tricky; what is in focus on the viewing lens can differ ever so slightly on the shooting lens. That wide-open shot shows great precision!

@SamuelTPayne I find focussing really quite difficult as my eyesight is so poor. There have been a few shots where I’ve kicked myself for not having the focus quite right.

I’ve been pretty quiet until now about the Threads remake that’s in the pipeline. My view? The world has moved on & yes, there’s scope for an updated nuclear holocaust drama. But do NOT call it Threads. Threads is a film made in 1984 that still speaks. Call it something else!

@la_riviere Yes, my experience has often been muddy shots with E6, but when the right one hits the film the quality of the film takes it to the next level.

@SamuelTPayne Thank you. I must admit I’ve loved this Ektachrome run after a few lacklustre rolls. I dunno why I take them, but there is a thrill when you get a good one. Still a lot to learn though.
