i always loved this animation and how it was done but well considering i just learned of the forward facing version and considering whats happening with chapter 5 in deltarune i thought it was fitting

@Bloccobill @thelightsmen Mainly because before the events of Deltarune, Kris didn’t really have friends and wouldn’t do much. Kris isn’t a little kid but is a teenager who can think for themself and grab food if they’re hungry.

@thelightsmen Toriel IS abusive though. Not because of the chapter 4 ending, but because of her general behaviour of letting Kris do whatever and doing little to take care of them. When was the last time they had dinner?

One of my favorite things about Deltarune chapter 5 is how easily it debunks the whole "Toriel is abusive" discourse from ch 4 within the literal first 5 minutes of playtime.

@user17386704 They know where the Knight took Asgore because the knight retreats to the bunker with Undyne so theirs literally nothing they can do at that point mates if just going to bed alongside the idea that they just got back from fighting.

this is where the episodic release schedule really hurts the narrative. The FAR more natural continuation after leaving the DW would be to immediately search around looking for Asgore, but because the chapter is over, we just send Susie to bed instead

@Captrlck I think it’s moreso the fact that worse things keeps happening with no explanation and she’s feeling more powerless to stop it. They managed to fix Tenna and stop the Knight from taking Toriel but at the cost of Undyne getting kidnapped instead then we see the Titan form.

I didn’t get this at all because I feel Susie’s known since the end of Chapter 3 that these aren’t fun adventures anymore
She saw Tenna “die” instantly and Undyne kidnapped in front of her own eyes. Then next chapter she’s stressed about Toriel and faces a fucking Titan

@Ascipearais Problem with this assumption is that it could also cause the Knight to just kidnap Susie, they have been shown to be physically capable of dragging Undyne and Asgore to the bunker. Alongside if Kris would be safe without help from Susie who is the main powerhouse AND THE TITAN.

@user17386704 The only person who would even listen to them is Carol and Susie clearly wouldn’t trust her. If she brings in people that aren’t even aware the Dark World exists then that leaves more chance of the Knight kidnapping more people. Noelle is both strong and has actually been in one.
