Delighted to call into the Ashtown stables today and meet the team who led the successful campaign to save Ashtown stables. The stables are a vital recreational and cultural amenity for our area. Deadline for submissions in the Irish Rail consultation is Wed 6 April.

A reminder that following on from the launch of the DART+ West revised Preferred Option, IR have confirmed an in-person consultation evening will take place at St Oliver Plunkett GAA Clubhouse on Thursday 31st and people can drop in from 6 to 9pm.

Popped into @SaveAshtown Stables to catch up on the new Ashtown Rail proposals & thank the Reids for their incredible campaign…
And I met Molly’s 5 day old foal as she was introduced to the rest of the stables.
All the horses were as excited to meet her as I was.

We were over the moon to have Emer here with us while we introduced the little one to his extended family for the first time. It's a special moment that we were delighted to share.
The new foal is 4th generation Ashtown and is the great-grandson of the famous Sapphire! 🐴

The DART+ West project has re-assessed
This is welcome news after @MaryLouMcDonald met with Ashtown stables and raised their concerns directly with Irish Rail who agreed to re-assess the direct impact on Ashtown Stables which has now been primarily removed

The determined community campaign against the Dart + West plan to close the stables has yielded results and the new revised Ashtown preferred option leaves the stables intact.

New proposals for Ashtown dealing with the closure of the level crossings have just been launched by Irish Rail.
Time to engage with the public, but the good news is Ashtown Stables is staying put.
