Why do you think Japan attacked the US? Because they were bored? Japan and China were at war? Why?. Because the USSR and the western bankers have funded the communist party in China in 1921 after many attemps of controlling China with the Opium Wars (1839–1842; 1856–186) that ended Honk Kong being controlled by the British Empire. The bankers have implemented communism in the Soviet Union and they wanted to expand their control in Asia. China and the Soviet Union was training anti Japanese militias in Indochina and Vietnam. Why did the US impose an oil embargo against Japan? Because the US and the Soviet Union were allies. Hitler was fighting against communism as well in Europe. Obviously the US and the allies won, Japan was occupied by the US , China became communist, Germany was occupied, and divided into four zones by the Allied powers (US, UK, France, and Soviet Union. The Soviet Union expanded by formally incorporating the Baltic States (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania), parts of eastern Poland, parts of Romania (Bessarabia and Northern Bukovina), Carpathian Ruthenia from Czechoslovakia, parts of Finland, and the Tuvan People's Republic became communist. It remind me why we always talk about the horrors of the Nazi regime but we never talk about the Gulags, Holomodor and the horrors of the comunists regimes responsible for more than 100 million people killed. In WW2 countless millions were killed, far more from conventional bombings. We can debate the morality of nukes forever. I think the US was right to use them, you obviously disagree. In WW2 the Japanese committed horrors against the Chinese. Read about the Rape of Nanking. Basically, when it comes to the evils committed in WW2 the use of nukes does not rank very high in my book. One thing I will say, you cannot discuss use of Nukes in WW2 unless you are willing to discuss the overall context of that war. Discussing Nukes by themselves is an attempt to apply moral standards disconnected from the reality of the time.

Looked around my flat and wondered what I would carry with me if I was told to evacuate with an hour’s notice. Packing up a whole life in an hour and finding a place to stay? How is this not a war crime?

So your point is that you should listen to some random person who says something on TV to form your opinions and not do actual research and put in work. I think that is very smart approach to life. I actually use this for all things in life. For example, some guy on TV said you can use Elmer's glue to attach your chandelier to the ceiling and I currently have it setting. I can't wait for the glue to dry so I can remove the supports and stand under it to prove to everyone how smart this approach is.

When I was in my 20s I wished to deepen my understanding of the Israel-Palestine situation. So I purchased at least a dozen books - mostly semi-obscure, academic, many by dissenting Israeli historians. A day came when I closed a book halfway through, resolved to read no further, even to try to forget all I had learned, and then I donated all the books.
