While we're here, let me say this: anyone who thinks the Rhaena-Nettles merge isn't racist and should be called out, please block me. I'm not arguing the semantics of this when in the end the outcome is the same and the only character canonically black in the books was erased.

Lady Rhaena Targaryen of Pentos, first-time pregnant and already feeling pain just like she feared, clinging to her growing stomach and praying the gods wouldn't take her life like they had taken her mother's. She lost Corwyn's child, then lost him, but she kept her life.

This immediately made me think of book Daemon and Rhaena. Her being the only one of his children to lead a "happy" life post-war, her being allowed to be fragile only while he was still there to be her father because after she was the last dragonrider and had duties to attend to.

He died remembering her as the softest, most fragile of his children only for her to then be chosen as heiress, then fly at 19 like he likely did, then lose the husband she had actually chosen for herself, and still, she was graceful and full of light like he had never been.

Book¡Rhaena being beloved above anyone else is so especially intriguing to me, I wonder how truly pretty and charming (and possibly manipulative?) she was to always sneak into whoever's good graces. Even her traumatized brother who despised dragons chose her name for his child?

since S2 is finally over can we talk about how dirty they did rhaena and rhaenyra’s relationship? rhaenyra is someone who knows how it feels to be neglected by people around her she’s had similar childhood to rhaena. the way she treats rhaena is very ooc for her.

Baela died only having her father as a role-model whereas Rhaena learned from others, mostly women. Book¡Daemon must have been so proud of his littlest girl in whatever hell he went to after dying, Rhaena lived the way he surely hoped all his children would. At first, at least.

It's sad that HOTD does what it does to whatever relationship in the books cause with how the girls were described in the book, Rhaena and Baela were one and the same which implies both were menaces. Rhaena learned the political way with Jeyne and that's when they start to differ

Rhaena Targaryen of Pentos suceeding where Targs before her failed by hatching a second dragon egg in her lifetime, her eventual hatchling growing big enough to ride in 5 years where others took double that time at least, her being said to fly "farther and farther everyday".
