The Department for Education has been warned in the past over its handling of children’s information – it must reassure parents that children can attend state funded schools regardless of immigration status.

Every child should be able to go to school regardless of their immigration status. If your children’s school is asking to see their passports please contact @Schools_ABC and @libertyhq

@nataliesedacca @Schools_ABC We were asked to do this when we arrived 8 years ago and continued to be asked as each child entered a new school. Passport and visa, btw.

Important thread from @Schools_ABC regarding the extremely concerning requests to provide evidence of children's nationality at schools in light of Brexit.

I can’t quite believe we are having to fight the same fight all over again. But here goes; if you are asked for this data don’t comply- even if you can. Parents with status and passports refusing to supply this data provides some aircover for others who can’t. #nobordersinschools

The Hostile Environment never left our education system, but this blatant example, especially given the hard won fight against it the first time round, is outrageous and anger inducing. #HostileEnvironment #PupilsNotPassports

RT🔒 Comfortable to say this as I am🔒 As part of @Schools_ABC, we are looking into examples of passport checks. DfE have confirmed that they no longer ask for nationality data from state schools in England and deleted all the data they had. We could do w/ more help on this!
